Red Giraffe has officially joined the UK’s national ‘4 Day Week Campaign’ as a Gold Standard accredited employer.
The 4 Day Week Campaign is designed to encourage a new way of working in the UK, through promoting the benefits of a reduced working week for both businesses and employees.
This progressive move signifies the agency’s commitment to employee well-being and a future-focused work model of “working smarter, not longer”
At the beginning of April, the team transitioned to a shorter week, operating Monday to Thursday with no reduction in pay or benefits. It’s initially taking place for a 4 week trial, but with the results demonstrating a positive response both internally and externally, it is likely to become a permanent move for the business.
Commenting on the agency’s official accreditation, Joe Gilbert (Managing Director at Red Giraffe) says: “We’re thrilled to be a part of this ground-breaking initiative. We believe the 4 day week presents a win-win scenario for both our employees and our business. By prioritising well-being and a culture of work-life balance, we aim to achieve even greater creativity, innovation, and productivity within our team and for our clients.”
As the first web design agency in Milton Keynes to make the transition to a 4 day work week, Red Giraffe joins a growing number of UK companies embracing this model, citing potential advantages such as:
- Enhanced Employee Well-being: A shorter workweek can lead to reduced stress, improved work-life balance, and increased employee satisfaction.
- Boosted Productivity: Focused workdays may lead to increased productivity and efficiency.
- Talent Attraction & Retention: A forward-thinking work model can make Red Giraffe a more attractive employer in a competitive SEO Agency, and Web design and digital market.
The stats from the 4 Day Week campaign reflect the above points. Following the official 4 Day Week pilot last year, data revealed that 71% of employees had reduced levels of burnout and 39% reported less stress with a 4 day schedule.
There are also a number of wider societal and economic benefits reported, including improved mental and physical health, lower unemployment and a significantly reduced carbon footprint, potentially by up to 127 million tonnes per year. As a climate positive agency with a ‘people and planet first’ approach, the impact of the switch is strongly reflected in the agency’s core values.
Red Giraffe is committed to evaluating the impact of the 4-day week on employee well-being, productivity and client services, on a continuous basis.
